JALT Hokkaido would like to invite you to participate in The JALT Hokkaido Winter Language Conference 2025 – Teaching Tools for the Classroom.
This year’s theme is teaching tools for the classroom. We are looking for the best tools ranging from AI to video and gamification platforms, to good old reliable textbooks, resource books, cards, handouts and everything in between.
Our plenary speaker is Dr. Louise Ohashi, associate professor at Gakushuin University, Japan and the Chair of EuroCALL’s AI SIG. Her main research areas are CALL/MALL, motivation, and learner autonomy.
The conference is scheduled to begin with registration and a networking event on Saturday, February 15th. Following this, a full schedule of presentations and displays from publishers and online language teaching tools providers will take place on Sunday, February 16th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Hokkai-Gakuen University in Sapporo.
The JALT PIE SIG will also be holding their winter conference On Saturday, February 15th at the SCART building in downtown Sapporo and at the JALT Hokkaido Winter Language Conference 2025 – Teaching Tools for the Classroom on February 16th.
Our conference has been one of the biggest language teaching conferences in northern Japan for the past 40 years, with average attendance between 80 to 120 attendees and we would like you to be a part of it.
We will prepare a high-traffic exhibition display area with coffee and snacks to guarantee a lot of people will come to see you. Teachers from all over Hokkaido are eager to come to our conference, and one of the main reasons is to see the latest in educational products from our JALT Sponsors. Why not come the week before the conference and visit the universities and private language schools before the conference while the teachers are still thinking about the last term and what they might like to do in the new term?

***Please note that, as per JALT rules, money spent for this event can be reported to JALT Central Office and counted towards your overall contribution to JALT in calculating your status in the JALT conference exhibition booth selection process.
