Dear Associate Members,

Thank you for your continued support of JALT along with the various Chapters and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). 

In July (tentatively July 5th) we will hold our annual State of the Chapter from approximately 6 to 9pm at Rikkyo’s Ikebukuro Campus. This is an event where we show how much the Tokyo area is doing and celebrate our successes. (See more about our events here https://sites.google.com/view/tokyojalt/events/.)

At the State of the Chapter, we invite featured speakers, hold elections, and conduct other Tokyo Chapter business. Last year, we were fortunate to have Paul Nation to present at our event. In addition, we usually offer some light refreshments during the event. Last year, we were able to provide enough food for our more than 80 guests and still had leftovers. This event is one of our most celebrated each year.

This year we are speaking with representatives from the labor union and the Job Information Centre and will be holding short talks and longer workshop sessions about those topics. We expect great interest and anticipate numbers similar to last year.

For that reason, we are reaching out to you today. We are looking for one group to help find and fund quality food and drink for our guests.

If this event does not suit your schedule or your budget, please look at our events and let me know if one of our other events does! I hope that we can work together to plan something exciting and helpful for all of Tokyo and Japan!
