As always, thank you for your support of JALT. Thank you for your support of the 2023 international conference in Tsukuba. We had a total attendance of 1218 attendees! This number exceeded our estimates and we have to thank our Associate Members for being a crucial part of this success.
Since we are in the season of preparing for the 2024 International JALT Conference in Shizuoka presentation proposals, I have been able to compile some interesting statistics from last year’s conference attendance. Below is the link to the attendance numbers for most presentation rooms in Tsukuba. Please keep in mind that this was the first year we started recording this type of information.

Some observations about this document.
1. Each day is recorded, along with online data and the content area data for vetted and unvetted presentations and proposals. Please look at the bottom of the document and click on each category/day.
2. On the right-hand side of the document for each day, the top 10 most popular presentations along with average presentation attendance over the day were analyzed.
3. Not all data was collected for every presentation room. We apologize for this error and will make an effort to have complete statistics for the next conference.
4. Plenary session attendance was not recorded.
5. AI is a very popular topic among our conference attendees.

Unvetted proposals are due May 31 at 11:59 pm. All vetted and unvetted presentations, workshops, forums, and meetings for JALT2024 will be face-to-face. The link to submit an unvetted presentation is https://jalt.org/conference/submit/unvetted. Your AM liaison, Miho Tajima, will inform you of the number of unvetted presentation slots next week.

3. 残念ながらデータが収集できなかった会場があったことをお詫びいたします。次回大会では完全な統計が取れるよう努力いたします。
4. 基調講演の出席者数は含まれません。
5. 特に人気があったトピックは、AIに関連するものでした。
他にも有益と思われる分析がございましたらご連絡ください。
本年の無審査発表申し込み締め切りは5月31日午後11時59分です。本年の大会における発表、ワークショップ、フォーラム、ミーティングはすべて対面式を予定しております。各会員の無審査発表枠は、来週以降個別レポートとして皆様にお送りいたします。
